The single biggest stop I hear when business owners begin to think about email marketing and social media (besides getting it all set up) is, “Where will I find content?”
It’s easier than you think:
- Google Alerts – set up search phrases for topics you want to hear about, as well as the frequency, and Google will email you. - Industry Experts – this can include blogs, emails as well as social media – add the ones that really speak your language and you’ll be amazed at what they inspire
- Industry Publications – although more and more these may be electronic and included in the above
Beyond that, remember to:
- Keep it simple – none of us have time to ready lengthy emails/posts
- Keep it original – if you use other’s content, share your comments and reference the original post
- Keep it interesting (to the point)
